Can't play modpacks

Details of the issue:
So when I try to launch any pack from Curse at the latest and older forge setups I get a message that says: 'Java can not be opened' and then 'ERROR. ERROR. ERROR!' I use mac and those messages would pop up and so and then the game crashes before I do ANYTHING! Please help or give me the old launcher.​
 
You should install and use java 8 regardless of using Curse launcher or Legacy launcher.

If you want legacy it's available on the front page www.feed-the-beast.com (marked as legacy under the larger download button)
 
Now when I launch the crackpack or the game I play it loads to like step 6/7 then crashes with legacy! Im like WHAT THE!!? Yeah...

I don't get a log I don't even get a launcher opened 1/2 the time
