Can't place magical crop seeds in Expedtion Modpack

I can't place Magical Crop seeds on anything

Looks like that modpack ingludes Agricraft, so you probably need to plant seeds on cropsticks.

Are you using the correct soil? Some seeds may require different soil types.

I used all the different soils in the modpack and it still won't work

I started a new world yesterday, have wheat/potato/carrots in crop sticks.

For minicio NEI says tilled garden soil is required, will test that next. Oh and that is Garden Core garden soil, not Ztones garden soil, it appears.

Update: Yes, the various Magic Crops are growing fine with crop sticks on top of tilled garden soil.
