Can't Launch FTB

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Try adjusting the amount of memory given to minecraft. I seam to remember it being pretty picky on some machines. Might need to drop it below 1G even. Might also be the java version and modpack don't mix. Not for sure on that one. Some modpacks used to really dislike java 8. I think that was fixed though. Didn't see that "(Pixel format not accelerated)". You graphics card might not support openGL.

Not for sure it looks like there are so many different things wrong here.

Does your computer only have 2GB of RAM? Is the PC capable of 64bit? Have you ever successfully launched and played minecraft on this PC setup?

Good luck trying to get it running. Modded + minecraft is pretty awesome.

The computer is 32 bit at my school and I have tried all the memory settings and I'm running this off a flash drive. The wired thing is it works on computers in one class but in the other it doesn't work. Also this is not my first time playing ftb off a flash drive and last time it worked. Do I need to install Java on the drive

Might be a good idea. If you know how to force it to write all the different files to the flash drive then it should be pretty easy Optimally you might see if you have a version of java 7 32bit lying around to try too.

The only other issue might be if they didn't bother to install graphics drivers for the computers. I don't think that is likely. Not even sure if it would be a issue. If the GPU doesn't support at least OpenGL 2.1 then I don't think there is any way to get Minecraft to run through it. Possibly running in a fully virtualized environment it might be possible.

Might work better if you use the default Minecraft launcher to run the modpack. Ran properly it will write all files to the flashdrive. I haven't figure out how to do that with the FTB launcher yet. As it likes to create folders I can't seem to reroute where I want.

I tried using flashdrives multiple times for minecraft. Just never caught on with me. I don't use any computer but this one, and the USB speed tends to bog the game down. Might not be a issue with access to 3.0 ports. I don't have any of those yet. Mostly now I just like to force as much of the game to run in a single folder as possible. It just makes it easier for me to find files. Plus that creating files and folders all over the place kinda makes it similar to a extremely badly trained Great Dane as far as I'm concerened. Just shitting all over my hard drive without a care in the world.
