Can't download modpack, start up client after closing, and more.

My first issue is when I download the client (where you can download the modpacks), there is no shortcut on my Desktop.
My second issue is when I do go to download a modpack, it's telling me that it's Starting the FTB App, please wait. And it's stuck on this for

Third issue is, when I close the client and finally do get to the modpacks, it won't install. I'm stuck with this issue:
