I use F as forward in my WASD setup (long story). F was bound to two other keys, which I remapped. I re-bound F to Forward and it's not showing up as red in the Options/Controls, so there's no clear conflict, but when I press F in-game, I don't move. I can rebind Forward to R and it works, but F does not.

Anyone know if there's a manual change I can make in a config somewhere to make F available for Forward? I suspect another mod isn't respecting the Options/Controls rebind, but can't find the source of the conflict.

Um, best thing I can suggest is just look through the config files and try to find the one which is occupying it.

Any suggestions where to look beyond the options.txt file in the minecraft folder? The F key is only mapped the Forward entry in options.txt. I didn't see any key bindings in the config folder when I look the .cfg files in the individual mod folders inside the config folder.

Right, can you upload the ForgeModLoader-client-1.log file please, preferably put its contents on a pastebin that lasts forever and link that pastebin.

It's too large for pastebin.com, so I used Ubuntu's pastebin site. http://paste.ubuntu.com/6547389/ The only reference I saw in there not related to an item ID was about Rotary Craft. If the Ubuntu link expires, let me know, I'll upload the file to Dropbox or something like that. Thanks!

This is not RotaryCraft it would seem, it appears to be something to do with the server you are playing on and the connection between client and server

Thanks. I tried once more, pasted the Forge Mod Loader client again at http://paste.ubuntu.com/6547495/

There are messages at the end of the log saying "2013-12-09 14:49:38 [FINE] [ForgeModLoader] Attempt to send packet to all in dimension without a server instance available." I'm pretty sure that message is being sent when I'm pressing the F key to move forward. I have no idea if that helps, or if it's just another sign my client and server aren't communicating correctly. If it doesn't strike a chord, I'll try re-downloading and reinstalling the server and see if it makes any difference.

The problems in communication in the last FML client log may have been because I forgot to turn off my VPN - or it could be another client-server communication issue. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

I like to use F for 'Use' in most games, including minecraft, and I am having trouble getting it to work in Horizons too. I tried searching the config files for "*=F*" and "33" (33 is the Minecraft Keybind code for F), but no luck.

Edit: I should add that this is in SSP.

Edit 2: Ah ha! Fixed it! I found another thread where someone posted the solution:
