Your link is nonfunctional, it looks like a file location from nautilus. You need to upload the photo to some sort of upload site and then share that link.

If you set that facebook album to public viewable, or upload to imgur ( http://imgur.com ) then that would be a start. You can also try starting the launcher through the terminal and copy the output from there. ( cd ~/path/to/jar | java -jar FTB_Launcher.jar )

You can find your java version by opening a terminal, then typing: java -version

Side question: Fedora 10 is a rather old distro, any reason you're still using it? If I had to take a wild stab in the dark, I'd bet your java version is as old and that would be what's causing you problems. Just firing in the dark there though.

Sal, I've already had this conversation with him in a different thread back during the beta. I told him that it does run on fedora 17.

That being said, sorry for the delay in testing. I had some parts arrive yesterday to finish up an order for a customer. Going to start testing now once vmware decided to finish downloading updates.

Well... Fedora 10 takes forever to update since only like 5 mirrors still even have it up for yum to update it. That being said with the stock OpenJDK 1.6 runtime, it does display the behavior that AroN9991 described. I installed the latest java runtime from Sun and the launcher threw out two java errors in console, but still did function as normal. Upon launching the game I received the error described in http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/linux-java-1-7-64-bit-lwjgl-fail.1129/#post-11739

I don't see much point troubleshooting past this point since it seems to be covered in a different post.

See http://www.if-not-true-then-false.c...java-jdk-jre-7-on-fedora-centos-red-hat-rhel/ for instructions updating your java to the latest Sun version. It's meant for a new version, but the commands are all the same. Good luck with it, but I doubt that you're going to find many more people willing to help you with it, Fedora 10 is almost 4 years old, and will be out of support for 3 years in January. As I've said before, you should really look at updating your distro.

There maybe many reasons not to update to the latest Distro, I often use versions behind. Unlike Windows and other systems you do not need to run the latest and greatest. If his Java and video drivers are upto date, then nothing else matters.
First question I would ask is it the jar being launched using the correct Sun JAVA ?

I understand, but my point was that if his distro is 3 years out of date, then his java version might have been severely out of date as well. He didn't really give much information, so I was taking a stab in the dark like I said.

Does Fedora have the sun jdk's in its repos?

@Sal: Fedora use licensed software? Hell would freeze over before that ever happened.

@creativetux: I understand that there are reasons to not update your distro, that being said as long as your video card drivers and java are up to date, that's not the only concern as to why you should update your distro. It may be fine for minecraft, but does the fact that he hasn't received any security patches in that time span sound just a little bit compromising?
