I'm pumping biomass from a fermenter through cobblestone waterproof pipes and into an iron tanks. However,, I'm finding that every once in a while, the waterproof pipe that is connected to the iron tank is gone. Can it explode if there's too much stuff going through it? The iron tank is far from full though.

Waterproof pipes shouldn't explode under any conditions. You might have a bug. Try golden waterproof pipes and see if the same thing happens.

I have never heard of exploding waterproof pipes so to the best of my knowledge no they can not and even if they could with the way waterproof pipes work the entire system of pipes would disappear if they were exploding not just one. Something else must be the cause of the mysterious disappearing pipes though what I'm not sure perhaps some form of bug or some other nearby block may be causing it.

Well I've switched to a golden conductive pipe and that hasn't disappeared yet so I guess the problem is solved. Weird bug.
