Before I invest in a redpower pumping system I wanted to know if they can even output in to tanks? All the videos i've seen show them dumping in to the environment. The reason I wanted to try redpower pumps over the buildcraft one is because my buildcraft one keeps randomly stalling in my mystcraft lava ocean and I heard the redpower pump is a little more intelligent.

If they can't any help on keeping my buildcraft pump running would be useful too, thanks.

They should be able to and I don't see any reason why they shouldn't. Just connect the pipe to a value on the tank and you should be good to go.

If you are unsure you could always test it in a test world first. Just make a small simple setup to test the concept.

I think so. I don't know too much about redpower pumps and liquid pipes. I think they do, because what else would you do with the liquids?

If you want to go the buildcraft route, is it chunk loaded? Is there power? What kind of engine?

Yes they can pump into valid forge liquid dictionary compatible locations (water into a GT grinder, lava to a Railcraft tank)

I've been playing around with this myself. They seem to connect to just about anything that accepts liquids. The only problem I've come up with is that if you don't place the grate at the bottom level of the liquid you want to suck up it might not get it all.
