Can I WE or McEdit people's bases into 1.5 worlds when the update comes?

Can I WE or McEdit people's bases on my server to 1.5 worlds when the modpack update comes? We really don't want to restart and could use the resources.
 
I think all that 1.5.1 adds is Nether Quartz, just regen the Nether. If people have stuff built there then give them a week or two notice on the fact.
 
The only reason to go to a new map would be if Red Power never updates like everybody is talking about (but it will, the author is just shy).

If that does happen or some other major mod disappears then it will be best not to try. Start over, give everybody a clean slate. There's a lot of funny metadata with some of these blocks that the map editors don't know what to do with anyway; they don't even always work right with the orientation of vanilla items.
 
Never get attachted to worlds. Having been playing MC for years just get into the mind set everything you know and love will vanish one day.

Sometimes it is just good to start fresh.
 
assuming this is the real eloraam, she has stated she was going to continue working on redpower for 1.5 guys
