I have this idea for something to go around and harvest fields of wheat and then return it to a windmill structure. Where they deposit into a chest and the wheat goes into a pulverizer to make the flour, which then goes to furnaces to cook bread. I was thinking of using golems, but I'm wondering if there were any other ways?
Can I detect if a field of plants is grown?

In saying that, between TF mini Ghast spawners (1.4.7) and Dartcraft looting chainsaws, I haven't actually had ghat year problems since.

These actually exist.
And Steves carts is currently the ONLY thing that can farm force trees.
But that's a woodcutter not a farmer, so can be ignored.
