I know i have read people adding mods like archimedes ship mod and stuff to FTB Unleashed, but is there any extra work to add mods?

I want to add galacticraft, and maybe some sort of ship mod or vehicle mod, but i was always told that it is recommended you don't add mods to an already made modpack like ftb or tekkit.

Are there conflicts with IDs or something that would prevent me from just adding them or having my server host add them?

There are ID conflicts, yes. Change the block ID configs and it'll fit just fine. I think. I've not seen any breaking issues yet and it's in my FTB-based pack.

So why wasn't this added in originally, as it seems like a new big core mod like biomes o plenty?

I'm actually surprised it isn't included as well as there is a third-party FTB pack containing GalactiCraft. I, personally, hope they add in configs for it. There aren't that many blocks that could cause issues and there are already some UE mods with FTB configs.

I'd say it wasn't included mainly due to the fact that the people making the mod pack didn't think it made the cut. When making a mod pack cuts have to be made as you can't have every mod in the pack. I doubt this had anything at all to do with Tekkit and it just came down to the modpack footprint.

Not talking of actual mod inclusion. Just of config file inclusion. There are a lot of mods that have FTB configs but aren't in any official pack.

Because it's a stupid mod. The moon dimension has bloody CHEESE ore. While some of the effects are cool, I don't think it would have been serious enough to be included in FTB.

It's a good exploration mod. Kinda like Twilight Forest and Tropicraft. Yes the cheese is a bit silly. But seriously, who doesn't have at least one item from a mod they like using that's just silly?

That completely ignores every other aspect of the mod. Its a very complex, technical mod. If anything it was excluded because its a UE mod.

One of the reasons the moon has cheese is because, as the place is desolate, we need to get food from somewhere.

Galacticraft is laggy, low on useful content (read: no useful content) and completely and hilariously bad next to Twilight Forest and Tropicraft.

It has no place in a high-power modpack. I'm baffled as it is that Tekkit is so focused on it.

To say it's low on content is fair as the mods focus is more on creating epic space stuff then exploration. However, it's not far to compare this to Tropicraft, a game which updates once a blue moon.

I'd actually love to see T-Con support added for the cheese ore, cheese tools, molten nacho cheese sauce, a ham and cheese alloy made from nacho cheese and pig iron.

Because space station and rocket ships?
Your point?

I said high-power, not high-tech. And unlike Twilight Forest or Tropicraft this mod has no feature that makes it worthwhile in a high-power pack (TF has Hollow Hills and general ore density, Tropicraft is a godsend for aesthetic builders and those that like living in pretty places).

Looks more to me that the only mention on configs besides your post was asking if there were ID conflicts. It would be nice if a lot more mods configs were added for FTB (there is still a fair few missing besides Galacticraft) but I think that side of thing comes down to time.

People often equate high-tech with high-power, regardless of the veracity of it. And you're right that it's not currently half a good of an exploration mod as Twilight Forest or Tropicraft.

I have GalactiCraft in my own pack. It's future there is very sketchy. It really doesn't add a lot and doesn't really mesh with any of the other mods. Maybe I'll replace it with Tropicraft on the next revision.

And I answered that there are ID conflicts, which are contained in the config files. If FTB had config files for Galacticraft, then there wouldn't be ID conflicts and the mod would be plug-and-play.

Rockets, Space stations, Oxygen domes, low gravity, extra planets with extra requirements for survival, a terraformer and near universal compatibility for other power networks. If that's not your thing, cool, but for those who want the ultimate futuristic experience it certainly is.

Once again, tropicraft is updated once in a blue moon.

Yes, I get that. My post was specifically why the mod wasn't included by default. The way the post read to me was more along the lines of "Why isn't this mod in Unleashed", not "Why isn't this mods configs already in Unleashed". And for the configs part, I don't think they had universal configs for unleashed (Could be wrong, I never really played Unleashed). As I said though, it comes down to a time thing, it would be great if more mods in general were added to the universal configs so the mods were plug and play, but it does take a good deal of effort to do that.

Ah. My bad. And no clue as to the reason.
