Hello everybody !

Yeah, I know, the question is simple and probably stupid ...

Can Dense Ores, made for 1.7 at first, run with Minecraft 1.6.4 ?

I'm currently making a modpack, called Discovery, [Insert Ads Here], and I would like to add this mod, cause I find it genius and simple ...

Thanks for reading,

Mods for 1.7.10 cannot work on 1.6.4 at all. Why are you still making a 1.6.4 modpack btw?

Oh that's what I thought. I'm making a pack on 1.6 for multiple reasons, mainly the stability and the fact that I want my pack to run on "old" computers or "old" version of Java, like Java 6.

Anyway thanks for the answer :)

Well for me 1.7.10 with java 6 and Fastcraft performed better then 1.6.4. But I know that's not the case for everyone.

You managed to run 1.7 packs with Java 6 ? Well, I know, I only tried Infinity and Direwolf 1.7, but these modpacks are the "basics" one, if you can't run them, you'll not run the others. But here's another question, can Fastcraft improve the launching of a pack ? Like, if you add FastCraft to a pack that you can't launch, is there a chance it'll works ?

I never tried FTB packs with Java 6 but I did run my own custom packs with it for a while. At this moment I skipped to java 8 though.

It might. Fastcraft helps with chunkgeneration and that can affect startup time as a lot of chunks have to be generated then.

That's true, unfotunately, Fastcraft is by default included in Infinity and Direwolf, which means that even with Fastcraft it doesn't work :/

That's a shame, my Mac works with Os X 10.6.8, and it has been proved that Java 7 could run without problems on this version of Os X. They just said that you need Os X 10.7 to run Java 7, just so Apple make more money...

Well there is a simple yet complex way you can achieve this...
