So today one of my MB from my server PC died. I decided it was time to upgrade my 3 year old PC and use it as a Server got it back in March 2011 a 2600k oc to 4.4ghz and had overtime upgraded to a 7970 that to me is nothing but litecoin garbage now because of Minecraft. To explain the Minecraft issue I run server servers and one them being a larger modded server. No not on the PC silly I got a ded box in NY. But my issue is that AMD seems to cause some kind of driver cap about year ago on the 7970's. So where you once got 600-700 FPS you now get like 250 max. Did a ton research not a CPU bottleneck etc even though MC runs highly CPU Wise but some strange throttling with AMD Drivers. I swapped a friends 780 in and went from 250 to 700 FPS. Now before you say why would you need more then 250 fps then you must know that its start of my modded area and the more you build the more your FPS tanks and yeah don't bother trying to argue I been researching this on and off the past half year now.

The other thing with this system is I work from home and my PC is my everything. This is also going be used to work on my Unity3D game both working on a 2d/3d game. I also do some video Rendering and some research and needs for vmware and the extra ram including the need of RamDrive. Pretty much am trying to build a 80% top of the line machine. When I say 80% it's more like 90 where the parts are getting near the top tier but not that extra $200 to overkill it.

Here is what I have come up with. If you can save money or think I should change something performance wise let me know. I also plan to Overclock the CPU to about 4.5Ghz or more if it's stable enough to handle it.

4770K
Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H75 CPU Cooler
ASUS Maximus VI Hero
GeForce GTX 780
Corsair Professional HX850W

Might Change:
Coolermaster HAF 935 (Will not fit under my desk though FFS :( )
x2 G.SKILL F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL Ripjaws X 16GB 2X8GB Kits 240PIN DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory

I need a SSD Hmmmm:
ADATA SX900 512Gig SSD

suggestions:

If your going to use this PC for your work/livelihood you will want stability. So dont overclock it. Nothing worse than having it fall over in the middle of big project, and then find you have no warranty cause it was overclocked.

If you are going to do rendering and/or vmware stuff you will want extra cores, so check into the 6core CPUs. expensive? heck ya, but worth it if you are doing serious parallel work.
