The iridium ore texture is seriously glitched out, how do i fix this?
do i have to create a texturepack with just this one corrected texture in it?
actually, i may want to do that anyway to tell the texture apart from some of the other stuff.

can anyone reccomend a non-soartex (thats the pack im using right now) pack thats compatible with Unleashed+GT, and changes the ore textures. i like the john smith remix off the launcher for that, but i dont know if it will work on my setup.

more screenshots.
when on/near dirt/grass, it gives the inverted colors. when placed normally, parts of the texture are stone, not iridium ore. placement matters, with different sides being stone or iridum. when surrounded by NOTHING it goes back to the inverted texture.

Not sure but are you using optifine? If so it may be that. If it is related to the soartex pack then post a reply in that thread.

no optifine, soartex doesnt change most machine textures, and doenst do anything towards GT. textures bugged regardless.
last 3 screenshots were on default textures.

It's Greg's ore camouflage (yes, ore camouflage, as if it wasn't hard enough to find already) code being derpy. I doubt you'll find a fix in a texture pack, because it's a break on Greg's end in the mod itself.

That's intended. The ore is supposed to be very obvious when surrounded by air or other ore blocks of the same type and blend in when it isn't. This makes things like bauxite, tetrahedrite, galena and casserite easier to find in many cases and iridium very, very difficult to find.

wtf. noticed galena has the same issue.

all it does is make ores buried in the ground IMPOSSIBLE to see, and the exposed ones look stupid.
how do i disable this?
and how do i go about making a slightly more distinct texture for the ore?

Unless there is a config option to change it you are stuck with it.

In the Gregtech.cfg under the general section change B:hiddenores=true to B:hiddenores=false

ok, hiddenores false has fixed the partial and wierd textures as long as the ore is touching stone on one side.
problem remains when the ore is not touching stone.
heres all four of the ores with and without stone touching.
natural oregen should be fine in most cases.

question still stands on how i go about creating a slightly more distinctive texture for iridium.
