Hello guys! Was testing some of the new features of the 151wgt pack.. Found something.. I think images will explain it precisely :

As you can see.. its pretty awesome.. Now for the bottom:

I was just making me a thaumcraft base, went to desert to find some of the red flowers of blaze powder and found it...

It's a bug? It's a feature? What the hell?!?! I don't know, but i wanted to share it with ppl, you will never have MJ generation problems if you have this boy.

EDIT:

After pumping it, this was the result: HELL YEAH

I could be a bug with the oil thinking the cloud is the surface layer

I remember hearing that giant oil spouts were a result of weird generation and chunkloading...

I was playing the 152wgt pack and crashed a few minutes into testing, but it's stiff fun, even with the bugs.

That was the second thing I thought but, clouds are not listed as solid blocks, so it shouldn't happen.. the first thing was that the new liquid blocks system screwed up in this generation only (because other oil spots i've found are ok) and recreated the world, ended up with the same thing..

If it wasn't because of the lack of generation from mystcraft and xy blocks, I would just go ahead and start over with this one.. I'm having so much fun testing it.[DOUBLEPOST=1369492292][/DOUBLEPOST]
Have you found any that arn't in clouds? Or any more that are?

Yes, in another world i generated i found another one (but, 30 blocks lower) and no clouds over it. :p

That's not even that big, the biggest non-glitched one I found had over 6k buckets.

Admittedly, ones that big are ridiculously rare.

I've not seen a single that huge. But I once got a triple well. I'm sure it was a glitch in generation. But got three massive wells within few blocks of each other their bubbles underground where joined up. I forget the amount I got but it was somewhere in the 3k range. I used the empty wells as a underground extetion to my base at the time.

That is a bugged well. Most small wells are between around 1k-2k buckets, so that's a normal well if it only gave you 1600. The monster spouts will give you 6-8k buckets each, and the bubble is more than 20 blocks deep. Dig down and you'll be able to see the real size of the spout by whether or not you see fog inside the bubble.

I had a really big oil well too (sucked everything out of it, got over 6k buckets). standard 1.4.7 ultimate 1.0.1

the really interesting part of the new large oil wells: they have an oil spawner block on the bottom. like those water wells. looks like bedrock, acts like bedrock, but can be affected by the gravity gun (means: you can grab it and run around with it).

I don't thing solidness has anything to do with it I think (haven't looked at the code though) that BC only check for the highest non-air block
