So everyone was happily chugging along on my Monster 1.0.9 server, then updated to 1.1.0, and this happened.

Nothing was changed in any of the configs - and this is the only area affected.

Map was generated by BoP.

As you can see it's all dirt, and there's a lot of dark patches, where mobs are spawning like crazy in broad daylight. They don't burn up in broad daylight either. Landing on the dark patches, it suddenly lights up - but during nightime there's an invisible light source all throughout. The first picture was taken at early morning game-time, and it looks like it's broad daylight.

This is only affecting this particular biome - and no, I have no idea what Biome it was.

This is probably beyond redemption now, as I've been notified about it several days after I updated, so restoring a backup is out of the question - but at least it would be nice to have a reason as to what the hell happened, so I avoid it in the future.

Any ideas?

Maybe that was garden biome?
Because it spawns tall grass block and and giant flowers .
If it was Origin Valley there would be some oak pillars.?
Dunno...

It says plains biome now, but something tells me that this wasn't the case before the apocalypse.

Sounds like a Biome was removed from the world generation in Monster 1.1.0 that was present in your 1.0.9 BoP map, and as a reminder, removing Biomes mid-map causes crazy shit like this.

If you are server owner(it seems that you are)add mod called 'Biome wands' an convert that ugly land to any biome you want. ;)

I know! Thing is, I didn't mess with the Biome config myself. Was BoP before the update, and was still BoP after the update.

Probably some undocumented biome change in between versions?

Going to regenerate seed and see what I get.

You're gonna have to nuke that map from orbit regardless, as a reminder. A broken Biome is not easy to fix.

Although this might work.

Problem is I have a player's base right in the middle of it.

I don't want to risk resetting his chunks. But I'll take a backup and have a stab at it just in case :)[DOUBLEPOST=1395261206][/DOUBLEPOST]Had a chat with the player in question. Was a mystic biome apparently.

If you don't risk resetting those chunks, it's gonna be new map time sooner then you want. If you can find literally any other biome that was removed, then as a reminder, they have to be fixed.

If you don't want to risk resetting his chunks but really want to fix this, make a backup first. Then do the wand thing.

Biome is changing with the wand as F3 is reflecting it, but everything stays the same.

I think a chunk reset is the only way out :(

Tried installting MCPC+ so I could use world edit, but it's being all whiney about libraries and stuff.

It changes the Biome, it doesn't add blocks all over the place. You'll still have quite a bit of manual repair to do.

Use TC wand with exchange(?) foci and replace all dirt with grass blocks.
I like your thinking, but it doesn't do well in creative mode, still requiring the same amount of blocks as normal and still giving you blocks. Do a stack or two of it, sure, but after that, get a Creative Builders Wand from Extra Utilities and use it on some grass. Its free on grass and can build upwards a block very easily.
