In my epiccraft playthrough I was wondering how to breed cows. Since there is no way that (I know of) to get vanilla seeds and barley and rice which are used to make bread don't work.
When you have Iguana Tweaks you have to rightclick grass (the grass blocks, not tall grass) with a mattock (somewhere away from water as you'll get farmland otherwise)
But you'll get all sorts of Pam's Harvestcraft seeds as well so it may take a while.
You could also look for a village. They normally have wheat farms.
Also if you have thaumcraft installed, you can use the lamp of fertility. It doesn't need wheat to breed animals. (Not familiar with epic craft, so don't know the mods it comes with.)
