Request Botania Tree Farm

Ok, so I have looked at a number of youtube videos and other tutorials for how to build a tree farm in Botania (DW 1.7 pack) but, after a lot of tinkering, seem to be missing something and I am hoping someone can say where I am being an idiot.

All the angles seem to match up, saplings are planted just fine, but for some reason they will simply not grow. Even if I bonemeal and agricarnations, they just don't grow. My best guess is there is some kind of non-air block involved, but I have not figured out what.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

The floating platform above your saplings might not be tall enough. Try raising it a few blocks and see if that helps.

Yeah I was going to say, that doesn't look like enough room for them at all.

Birch (and also Spruce) trees needs a minimum of 9 vertical spaces for it to grow.

That was indeed the issue. Once I switched to oak saplings the farm worked, well, 'fine' is probably too strong a word, but it did start working.

Now if I can just get the automated train stuff working ^_^
