BoP Redwoods not growing

Hello,

I am new here and this issue has been really bothering me as of late. I have a whole bunch of the biomes o plenty redwood saplings that i want to grow. I have tried all the different ways of growing them, 1x1, 2x2, 3x3... up to 7x7. Bonemeal nor fertilizer seems to work and i have waited well over 30 minecraft days for each one to grow. I have googled around and no luck The biome i am trying to grow them in is a beach. There is a dirt pad of 12x12 around all the saplings.

Anyone know how to grow these suckers?

8x8? what size would the saplings be then? alright well time to float in creative mode next to it all day long haha

i think it is 9x9. and it takes like 1 minecraft week which is around 2 hours

You're talking about the BoP redwood trees that you get from the redwood tree biome correct? Not the 13 block base, hugely tall Natura redwood trees with the outer bark and the heart of the tree blocks?

If so, I tried to grow some on the beach biome and got no growth with the watering can, nor with bonemeal.
However, I tried it in the neighbouring prairie biome in a 3x3 (9 saplings total) and after applying just a few bonemeals had a new tree pop up no problem.

As for the Natura redwood, that's was a 7x7 area last time I grew one, total of 49 saplings.

It is the BoP Redwoods yes, the natura ones are way way too big imo. Was going to use the smaller redwoods as sort of a little tree fort/outposts by a river by my base.

Just tried what Kik said, 3x3 of saplings NOT in a beach biome and it popped with a watering can almost immediately. It seems they cannot be grown on beaches

i cant get the BoP Saplings to grow even in the Redwood Biome i am using the Direwolf20 modpack version 1.0.12 and i tried 3x3 and also i did read that now only one sapling should be enough but still with bonemeal and without the tree is not growing at all i was patient i had the server running for 2 weeks now and still the sapling is a sapling

any Ideas?

You should put a sapling in redwood forest biome, close to water, thats the right way, if its on beach it will not work
