Blue slimes taking damage?

I noticed blue slimes randomly taking 1 pt of damage when nothing is hitting them and was curious why. They don't take fall damage, and they don't seem to drown. Is it exposure to sunlight, or is it a time-based thing? Anyone know anything about this?

Yeah luckily they die from sunlight exposure. Else there would be tons of them everywhere.
