Blocks placed double in quantity

Details of the issue I have added Immersive engineering, iron backpacks and optifine to the pack. (Note: this bug only occcured after adding optifine) The issue I am having is that when I have a block in my inventory, and i place the block, the block is placed in the world and it disappears from my inventory ( like it should) but once I update my inventory the block is still there, and if i break the placed block in the world I still get that block. So I am basically doubling every block i get.
