Heya!

Which mod adds this guys? They sound scary and seem to spawn in ice biomes.

Edit: managed to kill one and they dropped an item marked as from TE.
Following the crafting chain apparently they are a source for gelid florbs, whatever those might be hehe

that's one thing you could use florbs for...
I don't really know what the use of the drops for blizzes are though, I believed their drops could be refined into a cooling fuelent for one of the dynamo's, if I got it right

I believe the gelid is used as coolant for compression dynamos.

I believe this is the start of implementation for the new coolant for the Compression Dynamo. In effect, you take the drop from the Blizze, then run them through the Pulverizer, then run that through the Magma Crucible, then pump that to your Compression Dynamo. From the rumor mill, I hear that it will -significantly- improve the efficiency of the liquid fuel used in the Dynamo (although it will not, by itself, increase the RF/t output).

Thats great and all but is there a way to disable these things? They attack everything and ignore spawning rules. I'd hate to have to play on peaceful just so my animal farms don't get decimated.

They don't ignore spawning rules, they're just different to other mobs spawning conditions

So far I've gathered that they only spawn in snowy biomes, and King Lemming commented on that saying if they're spawning indoors there's a problem. So they spawn in snowy biomes only where snow can form

Make a glass dome over your farms. They can't do much about that, nor can anything else for that matter.

Well then theres a problem because they are spawning indoors. Had three spawn inside my base while I was right outside.
