Hey I was just thinking would it be a good idea if there was just say a modpack with just a few basic core mods like CoFH and Forge etc. Itd be a good for people so they good then have theyre own custom packs?
Yeah I don't see much point in it unless you could somehow "preload" it to automatically configure stuff like oregen, forge microblock registrations etc. depending on which mods you add. But would be pretty hard to make something "all-round" with all the different combinations of mods that are out there.?...The whole point of a custom modpack is too customize it to what you want.
But fair idea, though would there be much use for it?
Problem is just that the modpack would be nothing more than "a help downloading a couple mods". All the configuration that really makes up the "core" of a modpack you would still have to do your self as it would be reliant on which mods you add.well using the add mod function you then customise it to how you want it. Well people who didnt like the selection of mods on FTBLite2 and have a weaker computer so they cant run the DW20 pack for example it would open up many options for more tailored modpacks. This can be done with existing packs but whenever they update you have to do it all again. With this the player would be responsible for updating the mods and all tech support like the Unstable pack.
Hmm I see what you mean. When i thought of it i focused more on the positives.Problem is just that the modpack would be nothing more than "a help downloading a couple mods". All the configuration that really makes up the "core" of a modpack you would still have to do your self as it would be reliant on which mods you add.
