Are you using java 7?
If so, try removing that and use java 6.
Java 7 on mac causes all kinds of wierd problems for minecraft it seems.

I'm not totally sure how to do that...... I've done it before from 6 to 7, but since Mountain Lion it's all changed

In the chance that your computer is 32 bit, make sure you get 32 bit java and only allocate 1 gb of RAM in the launcher.

Also ma

Also mac's are ONLY 64 bit, just telling you :D
Hey, you never know, for all I know you could be using an ancient system :P . And I don't trust that people are really using the OS they pick for a tag. Not until they state as such. All I use it for is to determine what suggestions I provide for people.

Now I keep getting 'Wrong password or username'. What's up? Is it Mojang?

EDIT: It's also not my password or username, checked

To confirm: you have bought minecraft correct?
Also: are you sure you're putting the info in correctly?

If those are both answered yes, then it's probably minecraft.

Try deleting you lastlogin file.

Both = Yes
I'll try that[DOUBLEPOST=1353188278][/DOUBLEPOST]Great. Deleted all the files, checked my name, logged in fine, but it still crashes after changing to Java 6.

No worries, this is a multistep program with just one more step to go!
Follow the steps deskribed in this thread.
It is known that the mac launcher does not work, minecraft crashes on launch.

To fix it run
Code:
export JAVA_HOME=/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6/Home
in terminal just before launching the launcher from terminal.

Not that tired yet, besides, my epic void age workshop and processing room isn't even fully operatinal!
Think im going to start work on a common issues thread too, hopefully make things a bit easier.
Hate having to search for that thread every time someone with mac posts simular symptoms :p
