I have a computer with Windows 8 64-bit. I have Java SE 64-bit installed. I have restarted my computer several times and reinstalling java and the launcher, yet it still blackscreens on startup with the same message every time.

The funny thing is, I was able to launch MindCrack when I first downloaded FTB, but when I tried to switch to FTB ultimate, both became unable to launch.

Here is the error message on pastebin - any help is much appreciated: http://pastebin.com/jqt662Qi

Please take your FTB folder out of the location that it is in. Place it in a new (empty) folder on your desktop, with *no spaces* or *special characters* in the file path. It cannot be placed in any folders containing other files/programs or in any temporary folders, including Downloads. It needs to be placed in a folder, and cannot be placed directly on your desktop. Change the install directory (in the options tab of the launcher) to the new location.

Very true. But I find that if the user name has special chars or spaces, you'll still get errors sometimes. I perfer to install it to "C:\FTB\" myself.
