Hello,

Just a quick question, I am looking over seeds and trying to plan ideas and so forth for a let's play series'. I am debating over whether to use Minecraft 1.5.2 generation or Biomes "O" Plenty generation. This is not a performance issue as I can run both just fine, but I am tempted on my first run to use normal Minecraft generation, but at the same time I want to get access to everything I can. I heard somewhere along the line that you can get access to BoP biomes through Mystcraft Ages, is this true? Also can it work by using Minecraft's Default World Generation? (i.e, am I going to be missing resources to get there etc.)

Thanks very much for your time in reading this thread and helping me out!

Ensure that BOP config is set to not influence worlds that aren't set to BIOMESOP terrain generation, and (optionally) disable BOP's 'enchance vanilla biomes' feature.

Then, create the world with normal or large biomes, and enjoy. You'll still see BOP biomes as pages, and randomized ages will have BOP biomes.

I'd recommend disabling BoP at first. Then when you've gotten whatever non-biome pages you want, enable it. The more biomes there are, the more pages there are. The more pages there are, the less likely you are to find non-biome pages.

This method won't allow BoP worldgen until after you've gotten the pages you want. You can then explore unexplored areas of your base world for BoP biomes, and explore unexplored parts of Mystcraft ages for BoP biome pages.

Conversely, having many biomes as possible pages will reduce the likelihood of discovering the Diamond Ore Block page, making it even sweeter, but still just as game breaking.

Oh, and if you're looking to get TE3 at any point, start your world with BOP 1.1.3, as changes between 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 will cause ID mismatches and strip all leaves from your preexisting BOP trees.

edit: just saw that you're looking to start with MC 1.5.2; if you ever plan to upgrade, don't use BOP until you do and can use a 1.1.3 version.

Thanks for the help and feedback! After thinking about it for a while I decided just to go with BoP generation, it seemed as if a lot of potential things could go wrong. I found a good seed too, so its all good. Thanks for the help! :)
