Hey everyone, I know the mod has changed in 1.10 and is now called Extreme Reactors but I'm playing on the direwolf20 1.7 pack and I was wondering if someone could tell me the best power gen reactor in a 11x11 configuration. I don't understand the math involved and hopefully someone can explain it to me. I don't quite understand what the use of blocks are for in the reactor or which coolant to use.

Hey KoeppColto

For 1.7 especially, I recommend you simply tinker with this simulator:
http://br.sidoh.org/#reactor-design...E3O3E5X6EXEXEX6E5X6EXEXEX6E5X3E3O5E6O5E6O5E3O

I dropped in a more-or-less random 11x11x1 reactor to get you started. "Best" depends on whether you want high power or high efficiency. With the simulator, you can get a good idea of both.

The design I provided you there leans towards the more-efficient side (although, seriously, its a 2 minute design: I just remember 3-blocks-out of coolant = efficiency gains)

I want one that will put out the most RF/t and also is there a difference between using blutonium or yellorite

So I tried out the simulator I'm not sure how accurate it is though. The design I tested on the simulator said it could get up to 38.3 KiRF/T but when I built it the highest it jumped too was 31.4. Both had all five control rods set to 0% inserted keep in mind the stats Im providing is the highest its jumped to on the sim and ingame.

Simulator Stats:
Temperature: 1,147C
RF/T: 38,378.36 KiRF/t
Fuel Usage: 3.23mb/t
Reactivity: 475%

InGame Stats:
Temperature: 1076C
RF/T: 31,300 KiRF/T
Fuel Usage: 2.17mb/t
Reactivity: 473%

Might not be 100% accurate to your version. Don't be concerned about that, it could be as simple as a configuration change on your side.

Use the simulator to compare designs to each other, don't focus on trying to match your results to the simulator's.
