Just thought I'd let you guys know I've had some problems with the beta mod launcher. I can start Minecraft with it no problem and it looks like it downloads everything it needs but when it starts up it's vanilla Minecraft!

Try to delete the folder where it downloads file, then relaunch and try again. There are still some problem in downloading mods but try 1 or 2 time and it should work fine. It works for me ^^
hope it helps

Everything about the beta launcher belongs here:
https://github.com/Slowpoke101/FTBLaunch
or on the IRC channel #ftblauncher on Espernet

it doesn't really belong on the forums....Though if you know how to install mods you can install the mod pack.
They are currently working on updating the launcher so that it works properly.....the hole point of working on anything I guess , is to make sure it works properly or to improve on it.
The beta launcher doesn't work very well at this point. It will work great in the future though.

I've changed the install folder to something different and started again. In that folder I have a .minecraft, FTBBETAA and temp folders. The temp folder contains the FTBETAA.zip which has been unpacked into any location so I guess that's why none of the mods are being picked up. As I have no idea of the correct folder structure I can't fix that :)

open the mods in the instMods folder and copy them to the minecraft.jar
the .minecraft folder is just copied over directly. the folder structure is already setup right in it.
might want to delete a folder in the minecraft.jar...can't remember which on though...

Note:
If you don't have experience with mods just leave trying anything on your own alone....unless you want a learning experience.

So if I open the FTBBetaA.zip and copy the minecraftforge-universal-6.0.1.353.zip into the minecraft.jar that's in FTBBETAA/.minecraft/bin and than copy the extra folders from the .minecraft folder (blueprints, coremods etc) into FTBBETAA/.minecraft/ ?
