but they're not.. There is nothing in the terrain gen code that puts plains next to ex hills with any greater frequency than desert next to snow :/ would be nice though.. maybe xbl or biomes o plenty or some other can actually make terrain gen smart rather than ridiculously illogical like that..

Actually, in my current spawn, it seems the villagers were wiped from the planet
i found some villagers but the best offer is ridiculously overpriced 10 diamonds = 1 emerald
i only got 7 diamondsI usually mine around level 45 for Copper, Tin, and Iron
Gold is found below level 32. I find 16 is best for finding gold, as you can also occasionally find some diamonds.
Diamond is between level 1 and 16. Level 8 is the best for finding diamonds.
Emerald I think is between 1 and 32 but only in Extreme Hills and Extreme Hills Edge biomes, not plains. I never really strip mined for emeralds, they are so common, I usually find around 32 in one spelunking adventure.
