So yeah.. I know you can change them but im looking to a better way.. Anyone? For now my setup has 6 bottlers going to 3 sewers but I find that a little.. I dont know, i dont like the exp orbs there, i dont want the conversion being analog and in world like that.. So, any other means?

Ive actually thought of the same thing as of late. I will probably go with the bottler method when i find a way to automate it

I think the orbs are pretty much the only way for it to work. Instead of drains you can use mfr ( I think ) sewers they also convert it. Etho has a pretty good setup in his current ftb base!

You can automate it.. Just pipe the experience to the bottler, give it bottles created by your desired means then pipe the exp bottles to a dropper and you are done :p[DOUBLEPOST=1396561556][/DOUBLEPOST]

I know you can automate the release of XP but how can do tell it to stop dropping when the tank is full, that's what im stuck on. its probably a simple method that im over thinking

In the newest open blocks update there's an xp shower that does exactly that. Just stick it on an xp tank and it will literally shower the xp which can go into an mfr sewer

He said he knows how to release it but he wants to know how to tell it to stop releasing it when his mob essence tank if full

Ahh sorry my bad. Well the xp shower requires a redstone signal so just use a turtle to detect if your tank is full then cut the redstone signal and the xp will stop flowing

Yeah I really like the set-up Etho has in his new FTB series also and have thought about using that method.

You could avoid the xp from becoming liquid XP at the start and have the orbs (presumably being sucked up by vacuum hoppers) go to MFR sewers with range upgrades. Sewers will still work if covered so long as other blocks are on the same plane as y+1 of the sewer. I havent tried to see which will take precedence over the other yet, but I plan do when I upgrade my MFR autospawner grinder setup.

is installing immibis' Liquid XP an option? you can run it through MFR unifier. it's less efficient than using OB Liquid XP, because running through the unifier comes at a bit of a loss. it just depends on the location and how many people would be feeding it on average.

Solution:

XP Shower works like a CHARM! Update Open Blocks (And the other 3 mods too, if you dont want to *maybe* crash) and yeah.. Setup:

D: Drain
S: Shower
T: Open Tank filled with liquid Exp
M: Sewer

Horizontal View

D
TTS
__M

Place ur feet on that drain and let your exp be turned into Mob Essence without any trouble. HELL YEAH!

Wow if you add Dartcraft's exp tomb to the equation you have free mob essence from just smelting things. Man thats op lol
...How is that OP? You get XP from smelting things anyway, the exp tome is just a effective storage system for it.
I get you're likely joking, but I take my DartCraft usage seriously, and always take offense when I see the term "OP" throw around relating to a mod(and not a person/post).

He is talking about the XP upgrade for the force furnace which IIRC multiplies XP gains from the furnace by 10, meaning pop in a dozen stacks get 100 levels. Makes the time stuff seem like nothing in comparison.

One stack of iron cooked into dart iron with xp core upgrade in the furnace equals 1200 xp. From one stack!!! force logs and iron give 20 xp per item cooked.

Interesting...might be a little too easy though. I liked the challenge of getting mob essence with farms and stuff. Might try your route but theres the automatic snowman builder/grinder setup that sounds like more fun.
