Does someone have an idea, in which progress you can end off a world and start a new one. Because for me there is no real need to start again in another world, if I still can do stuff like building complicated machines or make new houses.
You will always have a reason to start again but there really is no point in doing so.

There is no real "endgame" for me, because you will always have things to do!
Does anyone feel the same about that? What would you consider "endgame"?

My restarts are usually induced by either necessity (new mod pack, or similar) or rage quits (like the time my unprotected nuke blew up my base). I also do it every now and again to try different start methods, and to try different locations. I could move in the same world, but, as I said, I often tend to coincide it with new packs to try out new mods, and different possibilities.

I tend not to get very towards the "end point" of an mc world. I tend to lose patience/temper/interest with it long before that point.

I have to say that I only restart, if I switch to another modpack, but still keep the world in the other modpack and sometimes play on it.
But I don't think that's a "real" restart.

Usually when a new mod comes out that makes me do it, or a new version that makes me do it. The game itself without outside interference doesn't ever make me start over when I achieve a goal or die. Sandbox. 1.6 I will restart again.

Though, with all the RR stuff and changes to that pack, I restart almost every week and just goof around trying things. Last play I was testing solar boiler + mirrors and an ender tank to see how many commercial engines I could power. Seven I believe was the number for that and it was 28 mj power per tic. Not bad for free energy during the day. But horribly expensive in way of silver. Each mirror is 4 silver ore (double ore through pulverizer). So I believe it took something like 552 Silver Ore. Unngh. Much easier ways to get energy. :)

But I digress. I usually end a world and start a new one when something forces me to, not an in game goal or anything.

It's all personal. We restart when we have to. E.g., when our server goes down. Or when we are forced to because of 1.5 or 1.6

We were forced to restart because our old server company abandoned us. I hated it at first because I did so much work on my old base. But it was funner than I thought. And working as a team is actually pretty cool. My last server was basically everyone working alone. This server, a few people our working on their own. But there's a main base where 5 of us basically concentrated on different things, which made things so much easier.

I don't really apply the term "endgame" in modded MC. There's always something to do. There are a few mods that have such a rigid hierarchy of machines that someone might approach using "endgame" as a term applicable to that specific mod. In the perspective of a total mod pack I don't feel the term applies.

I suppose for me the point at which I wanted to start a new world was when I felt comfortable with the knowledge I had of the mods and realizing that my bases was crammed tightly with experiments and learning projects. It was cramped and convoluted and I was just sick of playing in that world.
