Seconding Nether Wart, that stuff is useful for a lot of things, but it has Praecantio IIRC so that should be your first choice.(unless you have a Mana Bean farm)
 
Oh cool. I'll use netherwart. I was just getting the stuff to use for awkward potions and didn't notice; probably needs a thaumometer scan.

There's also the option of Blaze Rods, if you have a nice farm seted up.
