Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if it was possible to change the biome of a bee.
Thanks in advance!

You can't change the base climate requirement for the bee species, but you can add tolerance to the bee to get them to accept other climates. You can change the tolerance through careful breeding, an Acclimatizer, or using a tolerance serum in an Inoculator.

Note that a bee will not produce things that are flagged as "Specialty" products unless they are in their ideal environment. You should be able to use the Alveary blocks that allow you to alter the environment to get these guys to work though.

One thing I hate about bees... way too picky.

Me; Y U no work B?
Bee; No... Me no work, it's too drrrrry here, my skin is getting all itchy.
Me; FFFFFFFU! I want upgraded bags! Fuck it... off to the void pipe with you ill just uncraft some string!
Bee; Noooooo!

get several stacks of sand, blaze powder, water cans, and ice.
stick about 10-20 excess stacked drones into an acclimatizer.
let run until you get T: Both 5, H: Both 2.
stick in an isolator till you get the respective serums. purify/fill. stick onto a troublesome bee. congrats. you can now use wintery bees (base climate, Icy) in the NETHER (Hellish)

This is only true for the Valiant Bee and the Austere Bee. The only other bees (currently), which are picky about their specialty production, are the bees of the monastic branch, which need to be alone (no living entity insider their territory).

Have nothing to do with this particular thread. =)

(And now I question ever mentioning furbies in that one thread.)

Back to the topic...

I tend to wait until I have a good chunk of MJ production on hand and just go through the whole isolation/purification/inoculation sequence to give my bees wide tolerances and a stable center point for their tolerance. The endless hordes of Rocky bees obtained in strip-mining are very useful for those serums. =)
