Is there a way to collect the Hives THEMSELVES, instead of the Bees? I've tried adding Silk touch to a Scoop, but that does not work.

Aside from using a Gravity Gun to pick it up(or a portal gun, but they are less flexible in this regard), I'm not sure. In theory you could take one with a Gravity Gun and drop it over a item/block which would make falling blocks turn into dropped items, but in practice? Hell if I know.

I can confirm that this works (at least with a portal gun, haven't tried gravity gun), though it can be tricky to do. Probably also considered an exploit, so expect it to get fixed someday.

As for adding silk touch to a scoop, did the enchantment just not go onto it, or did a silk-touch-enchanted scoop give you bees when breaking the hive? If the former, a vajra might be worth a try - they can break beehives, and if I'm not mistaken, can be enchanted with silk touch books. Expensive option, but if you have the materials it might do the trick.

If memory servers me correctly , one of my friends used a portal gun while mining and he dropped ores on torches which made them drop in block form. I think torches drops them instantly.
EDIT: I did a quick test and i can confirm that if you pickup any block with a portal gun and drop it on a torch, you will get the block itself.

Quick question while I have your alls attention. Do Apiaries placed near or next to each other effect each other's productivity?
