BC (MJ) to EU/t power conversion question

Hey guys. Quick question.

Other than the obvious answer of the Power Converters mod, is there a way to convert MJ (BuildCraft Energy) into EU/t (IC2 Energy)?

I'm aware you can use a lava fabricator, however I'd like to avoid using it if possible.

Railcraft has a Steam Turbine Multiblock structure which generates 100EU/t for 320 Steam/t (or 200 EU/t if you use RC 7.2.x.x)

There's nothing wrong with them, but it seems quite overpowered to use if you have a generally high power source. I'm just self imposing the challenge of using primarily MJ power, however I need IC machines regardless.[DOUBLEPOST=1371313092][/DOUBLEPOST]

You can use a magma crucible to burn cobble into lava and then burn that in a geothermal generator.. Its a 1-1 ratio though... If you use netherack you can get a 2.5 -1 ratio like the power converter mod gives you.

It doesn't get any easier. You build a boiler, supply it with things to burn and water, you get steam which can be used in the various steam engines for MJ, steam consumer for Powerconverters and Steam Turbines for EU.

steam is the most efficient but most complex to build.

I have a 7 x 7 x 8 iron tank full of lava. It would be easy for me to feed it into three geothermal generators and feed the eu/t into batboxes, but I've always done that. I'm looking to try something different. Steam seems to be the way to go.

I hear you that finding lava is very easy and lava is overdone... I was just answering your question. How do convert MJ to EU and generally speaking what I have read people use is the magma crucible route.
