Bauxite

Hi all,
I have a server that started on Direwolf20 pack, I changed it to Mindcrack recently, and of course forgot that Bauxite Ore will not be in the ground as it wasn't in the Direwolf mod.
Is there a way around this? or should I be looking at restarting?
One of the players on the server suggested me running an exchange(spawning it) for an equally rare ore possibly. If I did this which ore and exchange rate should I use, as I do not want to just give it away, that spoils a server in my view.

Find some fresh chunks that havent been genned in direpack- if you're in the right biome you'll be swimming in bauxite.

(take 10 obsidian, and charge through the nether- you'll cover 8x the distance).​

As for swapping ingots- look at the mixed metal ingot recipes, it'll give a rough value of the aluminium/steel ect...
(Given the uses for Alu, and the processing needed- it's roughly the same value as steel to buy from the server.)

Well, bauxite is pretty damn common as long as you're in a plains biome.

If anything, the only reason I'd consider it "rare" is because of the pain-in-the-arse infrastructure you need to process it (Industrial Blast Furnace, looking at you).

Just generate soms new chunks and there should be bauxite there.

The person that is looking for it says he has gone far out, and put up a strip mine, and didn't get any. Are you sure it will spawn in newly visited areas?

Yes but it must be in specific biomes, check out the wiki here: http://gregtech-addon.wikispaces.com/worldgeneration

Thanks, I found some, I think he must have set up on a previously visited area

Generating a mystcraft age works as well. I do all my strip-mining in a mystcraft age, Avatar style
