I definitely like the walls, I definitely don't like the floor, and I kind of like the ceiling. Try Quarried stone for the floor, processed or not it looks great.

Edit: OH, and try putting some sort of light behind the vertical leaves.

Ive messed with lighting on the leaves, it shows to much thru the leaves. Im going to put Arcane Lamps above the ceiling, it lights below up thru the block so you dont have to see them

looks alot better now, the solid blue was overwhelming. The white adds good contrast and breaks it up. Well done, looks good.

Mmm, I think it looks better with the blocks, as you said, having bricks in the walls already doing the same to the roof is lame Brick look better but, in context blocks go better.. The leaves trim.. Maybe it would look better connecting the trims? Like this:

Your saying to remove the black block between the two leaves and put a leave block in its place? If so i tried that, it looks ok IMO it looks better this way. One thing im not sure if i like is the portal wall, Im tempted to make the portal the size of that whole section and use microblocks in the back and put black blocks there. I think ill try that tonight when i get home then i can concentrate on the roof/ground. I think im going to go with something different other then the two materials that are there .

Keep up the good work DK. I like this whole thread and watching the work in person.

He is building this on the server I own and we have had a few discussions about this and trying different blocks as he builds this room. So far its been a pretty cool build and he intends on building most of the rest of his base with a similar design.

I'm actually thinking of trying out that Galactic craft modpack to get to the moon and building a TRON type base with black and white or silver panelling or something like that.

Depends how many pure nodes they get as a result. So if you get less then 5,000 pure nodes from those 100 saplings, you may need more saplings.

Hey Guys, messed around little tonight and i came up with some changes and wanted your opinions. I went ahead and put more trim around the room and with that i decided to move the white brick to the walls and added more silverwood leaves. I really like this so i looked at the floor and ceiling. Im not sold on those quite yet, the floor seems kinda plain, also the bottom two pics show two different frost blocks, one is the block and the other is the brick. I like the brick personally BUT with the walls being brick i think the ceiling should be different. Let me hear your thoughts. Thanks!!

First off I'd suggest adding more detail to the walls. To me they seem very flat and that makes them less interesting to look at. Maybe you could try pulling the black lines forward, or pushing the white bricks back? Also the line of silverwood leaves at the top looks really odd to me, since you've already created a black stripe directly beneath it. I like the colour scheme you're going for though, and with the ceiling I think the bricks look best, however they use the same pattern as the walls. Maybe try using something that isn't stone for the ceiling?

Screw that I have an advanced recharge station leeching off of pure nodes when combined produce more than a million of every compund and primal aspect!

Good start on your new base.

Ive always been fond of quarried stone for my ceilings. Add inverted lamps every so often and you get a nice bright look.

For the walls try some sort of embedded "pillar" Spaced every 3-5 blocks. if you use the same frostbound "blocks" for your trim they will blend in a little, but still provide contrast.

Or you could try one of my fav walls -- tower wood planks from twilight forest. but the brown wood color doesnt fit your current theme.

I know, but again, you DON'T HAVE ENOUGH PURE NODES! It is impossible to have enough. I don't have 'em all in my wand room either. I use 'em to clean taint, decorate villages, sacrifice them to the old ones, make my tower look more bitchin', and hopefully one day fill carts with 'em to clean taint with a pure-node cart(or million).
