Hey guys,

Decided to move my base and im living under ground now. Im not the best designer so i wanted peoples opinions on how this looks. First off, im set on the white floor and black trim/door but im open to suggestion on the walls. This is the best we came up with in the pics, im not 100% sold on it but it looks decent, also Im tempted to make the walls black with white trim, sorta opposite of the floor but not sure, so can yall give me opinions. (BTW THIS IS JUST A SMALL ROOM OF MY BASE, BUT I WOULD WANT THE SAME DESIGN THRU OUT)

I think it would be cool if you ran some Fluiducts with Glowstone for lighting, it would go good with blue walls :p

That's a solid design. Go for it!

And don't be afraid to try adding embellishments once in a while to see what you think about it. It's how you get "better" at design in Minecraft.

What is that material at the top of the walls? Looks a bit like Silverwood Leaves(which is a tad wasteful). If you have Mariculture installed, I'd suggest using Blue Pearl Bricks there instead. Bit harder to get en mass, but it sure beats wasting silverwood IMO.

Indeed they are leaves, but they can also be dyed trees leaves :p either way, is not really that much of a waste, a good mystcraft age can provide 10 to 20 trees in less than half an hour :p

But saplings! Silverwood Saplings!
Also dye tree leaves have particle effects and look kinda funny due to this.

As its been said yes its indeed Silverwood Leaves. IMO its not wasteful at all, one tree gave me 2.5 stacks of leaves and that got me a lot of coverage. Silverwood trees are pretty common, no you wont get stacks upon stacks of wood like a regular tree but i can find enough trees for leaves to do my whole base in 30 mins.

What stones have you been used for that?
Im sorry i dont follow you, are you ask what the blue blocks are? If so i forget the exact name but it starts with frost, you craft it with a lapis in the center and 8 ice around the lapis.

Thanks for the opinions guys, i was thinking of doing black trip instead of the blue blocks and keep the blue bricks in the center, just not sure how that will look. Keep the opinions rolling in tho, it really helps me out!

I've always like those frost stones or whatever they're called
They go well with white bricks also.
Keep up the good work!

It's from Railcraft, called Frost Bound blocks.

I'd say use some Abyssal or Bloodstone, or some dark block for the roof. Maybe Witch planks if you have AM2

I like adding texture and mild contrast. I also build so that I don't trigger a migraine when I look at stuff. Here's my starter base on my current world.

You're doing well and I like it. What I like most is that your walls, floors, & ceilings are all different materials!

Yea the roof is undecided, As you can see in the pics i tried Bleached blocks which look ok but i wanted to look at other options. I was thinking about possible an Abyssal roof but im using that block for trim so im unsure if i wanted to use it for the roof as well, as far as witch planks so im going to pass on that, never been a fan but the amount i would need to do my base would take forever to collect the amount of material. The roof is my next project to do tho :) . I am going to add designs/embellishments on the walls but ill do that after everything is done

I've combined the frost bound bricks with some unmelting ice (MFR) for a nice "cold" storage room. the unmelting ice may look very good for the room ceiling.

Once you can get a pech and trade with it, silverwood saplings are no longer finite.

If ExtraTrees is avaliable, you can use the WoodWorker. But you need a bit of Forestry Tree Breeding for get nice Trees :)
The blocks you can create with WoodWorker are very good for decoration.

Hey Guys, messed around little tonight and i came up with some changes and wanted your opinions. I went ahead and put more trim around the room and with that i decided to move the white brick to the walls and added more silverwood leaves. I really like this so i looked at the floor and ceiling. Im not sold on those quite yet, the floor seems kinda plain, also the bottom two pics show two different frost blocks, one is the block and the other is the brick. I like the brick personally BUT with the walls being brick i think the ceiling should be different. Let me hear your thoughts. Thanks!!
