Barrels and Routers -_-

Ok, so I have a really annoying problem with the Routers. I can't get one to take items from an adjacent chest and eject it into another.

My setup is as follows;

Barrels
Chest - Router - Router

Chest has a pipe going into it as a default route from my quarry. The Router in the middle has, machine upgrade, ejector upgrade and bandwidth, the one of the right, just band with. So I have the middle one set to extract from the chest using the machine upgrade and then eject into the south side of the second router (which is the side directly touching the middle router) The bandwidth is just to move stacks so it keep ups.

Now, I have this set up nicely in a test world, and it works to a T. I went ahead and set it up in my SP world, and... Nothing, absolutely. Nothing. I just can't seem to figure out what it isn't working. I changed the configuration around a number of different ways, I just can't seem to get it to work the same as I have in my test world.

I'm super tempted to just forget about using the barrels and resort to a proper chest system, but I don't want to, the barrels look cool.

I'm not 100% clear on the description specifically, the south side of which router?

If the south side of the right-most router is touching the middle router, then the NORTH side of the middle router is touching the right most router. In that case you would want to eject out of the north side. The ejector upgrade isn't like "Extract" or "Insert" mode where you're giving the cardinal direction of the block you want to interface with -- it is quite literally talking about the router that it is installed in.

Huh. That's odd. I must have looked over that in my test world. I'll have a look and see if changing it to the North side helps.
