Problem Bad Lag with few players

I setup an FTB server with the MindCrack mod pack today, I've already had people come on. But when there's a couple people, the server goes into bad lag. Can anybody give me an idea as to how I can fix this?

Specs:

Intel Pentium x86 3.2GHz Single-core CPU
2GB RAM
Windows XP x86
80GB HDD

P.S.: Is it possible to run an FTB server on Ubuntu Linux?

really hate to say it, but your pc just can not run a server, I am surprise that one person could log in. Yes, it is possible to run FTB server on ubuntu, just install it from the client.

Thanks for the reply. What I mean to say is can you run a FTB server, on Ubuntu Server (no gui)? [DOUBLEPOST=1357322244][/DOUBLEPOST]What I would like is a way to host servers in the cloud for free (I'm a teenager, no credit/debit card). I know OpenShift.com allows you to run servers in the cloud for free, but they only give you 512MB ram unless you pay. Is there anyone interested in hosting a server for me? I have a website and a YouTube channel, I would gladly advertise for anybody that will host a server for me.
