Unix backed up saves?(newb)

long story short, my world was corrupted(disappeared) and i cant find the backup files.
I cant find the info anywhere else. Please tell me where to find them? (I am a noob :))

sorry if there is some prompt i'm not following if there is i will ad it in soon thanks!
(debian is my os)

EDIT there is a template sorry but the only thing that matter is the ftb version which is v1.2.2

EDIT: lol was i supposed to make it bold and ad red !s?

The launcher never backs up your saves, you are supposed to manually do backups if you are concerned about world corruption. The launcher only backs up configs on major updates.
