Avast blocking Launcher and Server Connection.

Whenever I have Avast! shields running, the FTB Launcher (that part that has the list of mods as well as force update and such) takes about 10 minutes to start up and throws up a "Connection Error" screen when trying to connect to a server, both things that don't happen on vanilla Minecraft. When I disable Avast shields (as well as Windows Firewall) the FTB Launcher loads up right away and I can connect to servers. (Once connected it doesn't matter if Avast! is on or off). I've added an exception to both Windows Firewall and Avast! firewall and this still happens.

I have Avast! as well. Initially after updating to the latest version of Avast! the launcher did take quite a long time to load. I did not test out if I could not connect. I added the launcher folder to the exclusion list in Avast! and it started up quickly. I only play SSP, but I am able to log into minecraft and do not get any connection errors when downloading any packs.
