I haven't touched that block much since 1.2.5, however the C button seems to clear whatever recipe is in the table, I haven't touch any of the other settings.
Perhaps it's something to do with how the inventory is sided?
Edit: Did some research, the OD button stands for ore-Dictionary, and changes which kind I ore dict item it uses.
