Anyone have good suggestions? I tried the boring machine and it's more of a tunnel bore. Anything like a quarry?

Since computercraft is missing early game is kinda slow, installed BC3 though for quarry support - but basicly asking the same question... would be nice having a solution....

ore generation appears to be significantly bumped up from previous packs, so caving wont be so much of a chore. in fact, my first excursion to Y40 felt like a tour of a dense ores age :)

Really? I spent a couple hours branch mining at Y40 and Y13 and didn't yield much more than regular. I haven't found any caves though, using ATG and all I don't see any ravines atm.

I am not sure if this is true, but the ores might be more evenly spread around the y levels instead of being around a solid y level.
if you're really in need of more ores you could try going to the Deep Dark and mine a bit over there.

Husher from Engineers toolbox with a range upgrade using slickwater and no power will mine to obsidian with no problem :D

What's this deep dark you speak of? And how does one access it?

Deep Dark is from the mod Extra Utilities. you'll need to craft a portal block to be able to get access to the deep dark, though it'll cost you quite a bit of cobble and even some diamonds. but be careful though...

It's not.

RotaryCraft adds a couple miners. Craft the book to read about them.

Like I said, Engineer Toolkit Hushers mine just fine when supplied with water, water+power, slickwater or slickwater+power they can mine 3x3 default and be extended out with a range extender. On the plus side they leave the fluid behind so you don't have mobs spawning in your mine.

That's a terrible downside for servers. Flowing blocks are a real PITA for servers.

It's really not so bad the EngT deploys them. We're not talking about propagating the flow across a lava sea here. We're talking about a 5x5 space.

And the no power requirement with slickwater is a plus, just need to prepare ahead of time with processing of slickwater
