so while waiting for Forge Backup to update to 1.6 I'm now not waiting for it anymore and am looking for another automated backup program as yesterday in my world I lost all my TC4 research with no backups for my research... yea -_-

for those who don't know, forge backup was a mod that you could install like any other mod, and it'd automatically make backups for you with advanced configurations with for example an option for when the mod would make backups, how many backups it'd keep, how it'd make a backup and so on...

my question right now is, does anyone have a similar working mod or program for modded Minecraft 1.6?
for now I came across MCsave which also gives you the option to auto-save once every so many minutes you set it to, and how many backups it should keep, but I'm interested to know if there are any other, or better programs/mods out there for this

I just compress the saved game folder everytime I stop playing for the day.

rdiff-backup. The one and only tool i will ever use to make backups. I normally use either a cron job(linux) or a scheduled task(windows) which runs it every so often. This solution is WAY better than any mod or zip routine will ever be.

I never tried the curse launcher, might give it a look now.

problem is, I always forget to backup my worlds myself. plus if I were to only backup the worlds after I'm done that day, that'd mean if I spend a whole day working on my world, but at the end of the day something screws up I'd lose all my progress of that day
