Auto exploding creeper ?

In my current base, all my energy comes from the lava of a blood magic's lava ritual.
In order to always have blood magic energy, I constructed a well of suffering (ritual of monster sacrifice).

It works well to fill my blood magic tank. But sometimes something explodes below the ritual and destroy it.

So, it's a problem...

Do you have any ideas of what is happening ?
Is it a creeper ? What causes it to explode ?

Ars magica light mages can attack the creepers, causing aggro and causing the creepers to explode.
There arent really any ways to fix that...
So i'm gonna toot my own horn xD
I made a mod called totemic, which adds in a way to stop the creepers from exploding

As aside to this. At least on the server I am on the attractor resets every time I log. Not a huge deal I've just went ahead and let everything collect under the water and still keeps it safe from explosions.

I believe that's a feature added in 1.4.7, creeps will explode if they fall regardless of there being a person or not. It can be disabled with Reika's Legacycraft mod.

That may be so, but judging by the picture it appears a Light Mage decided to pick a fight with a creeper and the ritual lost.

Thanks everyone, it was a light mage trying to be a hero.
I resolved my problem by dividing the surface in 1x1 spawning pad.
The spawn rate is slower but high enough.

It could also be special mobs, Doom and Death creepers will explode on death.
