I have a Minefactory tree farm the pumps resources into barrels via logistic pipes ( the barrels have MK2 chassis on the with a itemSink & Provider module ). I then have a Redstone Furnace with a crafting pipe set to input oak logs - output charcoal, from there I have 4 steam dynamos that have supplier pipes attached asking to keep 32 charcoal, but the system will no craft more charcoal when needed, I used a supplier pipe on the furnace as well be it keeps running a never stops therefore using my entire supply of wood which i don't want to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

Why not put the barrel on a hopper and the hopper connected to furnace? Then you don't need any pipes for input.

Have you checked if the LP can extract from a barrel with a provider pipe from the top? As for solving the charcoal problem, perhaps it would be better served with a paradigm where you have 64 charcoal ready in the furnace by putting a supplier pipe at the bottom for 64 charcoal, at the top for 64 wood and a provider pipe at the back to make it possible for the supplier pipes to extract the charcoal?

Hi,

allow me to jump in with the same problem.

Setup: cobblestone Barrel with MK2 chassis with item sink and provider modules. Both modules basically work. The provider module pulls out items correctly. Also i've attached a supplier pipe on a chest and set it up to keep a stack of smooth stone in the pipe and a redstone furnace with power and a crafting pipe.

How do i have to setup the crafting pipe and the redstone furnace to make it produce smooth stone on demand? There shouldn't be any sat pipe needed as i don't need to input coal like in a standard furnace. I tried and played around and sometimes got it to bake some smooth stone but then the output didn't work - it didn't put the stuff back in the logistic system but instead spit it out somewhere in the wild.

Any help appreciated.

If the goal is to never run out of charcoal, but yet only craft as much charcoal as needed, try this:

1. Put chest. barrel or other inventory below or on output side of furnace. Set TE3 Furnace to output on that side only.
2. Always keep furnace full of wood
3. Extract boiler charcoal only from the chest, barrel or inventory directly attached to the furnace

When you start this system up, the output inventory will fill with charcoal, then back-pressure into the furnace. The furnace will then stop burning wood. However, the output chest, barrel, or small inventory will be full of charcoal. The furnace will not capable of turning all of your wood into charcoal unless you run of wood via slow/reduced production, yet you will have a small buffer for charcoal.

My Power setup uses an MFR Tree farm to generate logs. I send logs to a Deep Storage Unit which has a MK2 Logistics Chassis on the top side, with the itemsink module and a mk2 provider module.

Down in my power room, I have a Chest with a supplier pipe, the supplier pipe seeks to keep the chest with 32 units of logs. On the other side of the chest I have an itemduct pipe fitted with a pneumatic servo which is set to extract all items and ignore redstone signal. This itemduct pipe leads to a group of furnaces (I have two) which will convert logs to charcoal.

On the other side of the furnaces, I have itemducts set to extract charcoal into a chest. The chest has a Mk1 Logistics chassis with an extractor module.

Elsewhere in my network I have a Deep Storage Unit with a Mk2 logstics chassis, fitted with an Item Sink module and a mk2 provider module.

Charcoal ends up leaving the furnace and gets deposited into the Deep Storage Unit.

I have several Steam Dynamos, each fitted with a supplier pipe that seeks to keep each Dynamo stocked with four charcoal.

This works a treat, My system has been running non-stop for weeks and my Deep Storage Unit now has about 280,000 units of Charcoal :)

I'll post pics shortly when I connect to my server.

I sincerely hope this helps!
