nah, it really doesn't.
lol, "1 PL4Y GR3GT3CH 1 R SO H4RDC0R3!" sounds soooo unbelievably pathetic. No matter which GT mode you play, that's not "hardcore" and to think that makes one an idiot :)
Woah woah woah I'm sensing some hostility here LOL
Did I trash one of your threads or something?
My username is ILoveGregTech because I love the mod and I'm going to admit it right now GregTech isn't hard really. But it sounds like you are making the implication that I think I'm hardcore or whatever because I play with hardmode recipes and have this username. Well guess what I don't. In fact I wish Greg's recipes were harder and I also would like to point out that I didn't say that...

I have watched you arguing in Gregs thread ILGT, and I will honestly say you are not very good at it. You also somehow have made an enemy of Kane Hart it seems.

I have seen Lambert argue in most very thread here, and he is VERY good at it.

I highly recommend that if Lambert argues with you, you agree with him, say something complimentary about Middlesbourgh and move on.

Just my opinion. Your mod seems pretty funny Btw, and the Notch Sword and planned tool set seem pretty cool also. I presume they are unbreakable? Your (planned) pick is to MazeBreaker as MazeBreaker is to a Steves fist!

Also, read your profile, and I actually got kinda losses when I found iridium in the middle of the room I was clearing out for my cave home. Thank Christ for the Grav gun however, as I still was on ironwood tools, and power generation consisted of 10 geothermals!

LOL I am pretty good at arguing in fact that is a strong suit it's just having time to write out a response in time, which I didn't have time because I was going to eat
As for the Kane Hart thing I didn't do anything he's just mad at me for who knows what reason.
Lambert is very good at arguing and I feel at times directs his arguments at people who didn't do anything towards him (me)
And as for my mod thanks :D yes the notch multitool is unbreakable, emerald and obsidian tools are breakable.
There's other stuff planned too but yea

All of the spells really LOL
IMO Although I would consider myself a hardcore player so I can't really say as to how an average player feels about it's OPness...
Well, if you were truly hardcore, you would play TerraFirmaCraft on Hardcore mode.

"Oh, yay, I finally got a fire started" *DIES*

Sorry Lambert...
The bane of typing on a tiny screen.

Naw, it would be TFC, with Mo' creatures, Divine RPG and GregTech, with the 16 stack size cap, so even further limiting things than TFC already does.
And of course on hardcore, and living in a Jungle biome, for the dramycryxes (yesm i realise thats spelt incorrrectly also).

IT'S FUCKING MIDDLESBROUGH!! SPELL IT RIGHT OR DON'T TRY TO SPELL IT AT ALL ARRRRGHH MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!
Fake rage, I don't really care

I'm not angry at you ILGT, just find it kinda insulting that people assume that those who prefer Gregs mod configured in such a way that I do to be "softcore" or whatever.
OK I got the impression that you were mad at me but apparently you were mad/disgruntled or whatever with the person who made the implication..
Good to know :)

The spells are actually the very balanced part of Ars. Most of the machines and the energy system are not so imbalanced. The ability to do Equivalent Exchange scares a lot of people. Mostly because it lets you do things like turn cobble into coal, thus making ars into one hell of a powerplant.

I don't see why anyone has a problem with this, though. Gregtech already is a pretty unbalanced mod even in hardcore mode. You can have infinite copper, tin, gold and silver. You can cheaply triple iron and produce a lot more energy in less space than vanilla IC2.

Yes, it's the Essenes system that I worry about also, particularly with the healing ring, life tap combo combined with channel Essenes. In fact, it's the condenser/crafting table thing that's imbalanced, repairing tools is balanced, free items less so.

Also, you were suing that DoctotOr has his link book perched on a platinum block made via that?
Of you turned on Gregs compression recipes, that HEAVILY impedes the ability to do this.

Speaking of GregTech...
Yup, Kane Hart is kinda flaming over thermals, becaus nether lava is so abused, and Greg, the "nerf king" only makes lava power more efficient, and more powerful.

GregTech for me, isn't about nerfing most things (solar/wind/water power seems balanced with Gregs recipes I think, with just IC2 they are far too easily spam able.
I like the way it indirectly makes advances solars more expensive due to uu cost, but also makes compact more expensive due to solars themselves being more expensive.

Mainly for me, it's about adding another tech level or two to the game, with ways to be very efficient at many things, yet at the cost of others etc)
Also for making energy and lapptron crystals dirt cheap. That's nice also.
Also allowing so much mor e power generation, semi fluid, his own deisel gen, and a fusion reactor.

Speaking of, how do gregtech a and atomically sciences fusion reactors compare?
In terms of space used,
Price,
Power generated,
Automation needed to run full time

Etc

Anyone know?

The one thing I dislike about Ars is that one has to explore to find spells. Every spell has to be found in a chest, but for those that don't like exploring (or for those playing on a server where exploring is kinda detrimental to the servers health) it's really damn difficult to get spells. :/

That's what I thought also at times, and when I heard of the research I thought it could prevent this, but nope, to do research it consumes hidden knowledge tombs for every spell researched, and IMO deletes the point of research.

Ask us. We can share spells. This is actually intended use!

Ars sorta demands a minimum of exploring to become an archmage, but you can actually spontaneously generate nearly all the spells with "a fairly expensive spell research table." Except in most modern modpacks it will only be mildly expensive because we can just use light nexuses and cobblegens to make the diamonds we need.

So far the only one I really really need is flight and I already have it, I'm sure there are other ones that will be must haves but I dont know of them so I don't need them :p
I have an SSP world that I currently lack flight in, and really just irks me that the only way to get it is to explore :/

Doesn't the research table require one of those ancient book things per spell?
And these are only found in world gen so...

I'm going to guess that flight, life tap, healing ring would be all that is particularly useful from what I've seen.
That spell, divine intervention or something that takes you back to your bed might be helpful as /home won't be available.

You need the Summon Battle Chicken spell. I have it, stop by and get a copy. It is as awesome as it sounds

Took a quick look at the wiki, and it uses a journal fragment whenever you research a spell.
These fragments are found in guess? The ruins.
