You wake up in a white room, you don’t exactly remember how you got here, all you know is that you are on another world. A screen hangs on the wall, showing two beings fight to the death in an arena.

Suddenly the doors open and you are forced outside where you see a group of beings most likely just like you ripped away from their own world.

After entering another hall with many small doors at the right and left, the group you now make part of is stopped and the doors on the other side open, and the girl that you saw fight on the screen enters, covered in blood and her skull bashed in near her left eye.

She smiles as she sees the group and says “Don’t be afraid of death, after all it’s the show that counts.”

She then looks at the guards who immediately split the group into two and force everyone to enter a door.

The room is small and only contain your own weapons, when the doors open again you find yourself in the arena you saw on the screen together with those that entered the doors next to you facing the other part of the group and you know you have no other choice than to fight to the death.

This is a small RP for me to get some experience as GM and to test out the battle system that I will be using for another RP that I plan to host sooner rather than later. Both PvP and PvE will occur but death won’t be the end of your character. The battle system is explained here. (the focus and thus examples are aimed at the bigger RP)

As you may have already guessed, in this rp all your characters come from other worlds as such you don’t have to play as humans (or even humanoid creatures, if you want). You can also choose if your character will be magical themed, technology themed or something else.

Character Sheet:
Name:

Age:

Species: (as what are you playing, if the species you play as has any weird things that are not character specific this will be a good place to put it)

Appearance (Image, description or both):

Personality:

Backstory (at least one paragraph):

Stats (25 total):

Strength:

Accuracy:

Armour:

Health:

Agility:

Speed:

Abilities: (3 total)

Equipment: (You need 2 weapons, these allow you to attack from different distances among other stuff your character has though these may not change combat, you have abilities for that.)

As an example, here's a charsheet that I put together:

Name: Crystal
Age: 25
Species: Human
Appearance: Dark hair; wears a shirt and shorts in all seasons, regardless of the weather; always wears an assortment of gold jewelry, each piece set with a single glowing gemstone in a variety of colors
Personality: Adventurous, has dedicated the last decade and a half to studying the Ancients; has a bit of a girly streak

The first time she saw a pylon, when she was but a girl, Crystal was fascinated (even though it shot bolt of lightning at her when she got too close). She wanted to learn more about these structures- why they were scattered about the landscape, what they were for, and who built them. She asked around her village, but no one seemed to know anything about the pylons at all. Even the local “expert”, an old man who built his house based on a drawing on a scrap of paper a farmer had dug up in his field, had given up when the “casting room”, as he called it, didn’t work. Disappointed, Crystal put her fascination with the pylons on hold.

Until one day, while exploring the caverns near her home, Crystal happened upon a patch of rock that was different, somehow, from all the rock around it. This rock was pitch-black and almost perfectly smooth and flat to the touch- very much unlike the rough, gray stone that lined the rest of the cave. While examining this strange outcrop, Crystal discovered an opening that was just large enough for her to step through. In the center of the room was a glowing ball of energy. It resembled those crowning the pylons, but did not have the palpable aura- or the lightning bolts- that she was used to. When she reached out to touch the orb, it vanished in a flash of light, leaving nothing behind but a handful of paper. All of the scraps were covered in writing, most of which was impossible to read in the flickering light of Crystal’s lamp, but one had a list of colored runes, the same ones that adorned the pylons, with descriptions of what those runes meant. Giddy with excitement, Crystal raced out of the cave in order to examine her new discovery in more detail.

~~~~~~~
In the time since her discovery of that crystal shrine fifteen years ago, Crystal had ventured far and wide in pursuit of the ruins, the knowledge, the secrets left behind by the Ancients. She had recreated many of their tools and constructs and even managed to devise a few of her own. She had harnessed the power of the pylons and opened a gateway to the Volatile Realm. Today, however, was something different. Unique. Today, she would use her portal to explore an entirely new world, a new dimension; one that not even the Ancients had known.
The gateway was locked; the portal, open. Crystal double-checked that her various infused pendants and bracelets and whatnot were all in place, and without further ado, jumped through the portal.
~
When Crystal came to, she was in an unfamiliar place. A room. A small room with white walls. And a door, which was locked. And a window. No, not a window; some kind of panel through which she could see… fighting. Two people fighting. Two people she did not recognize fighting each other using weapons and magic unlike any that Crystal had ever seen. One was knocked to the ground, and the other rushed toward him swinging a large sword. Crystal looked away.
Crystal tried to remember how she got here. She remembered her home, the pylons, all the constructs she had built. The portal. She had jumped through the portal, and then… falling. Panic. Something had gone wrong. Her jewelry, her boots, her magic- it stopped working. The portal dropped her in the sky and she fell and couldn’t break the fall because her magic didn’t work. That was it; that made sense. She must’ve been knocked out when she hit the ground- lucky she wasn’t killed.
What now?
That question answered itself when a girl with a black eye opened the door. Crystal found herself ushered into a room with several other people of widely varying shapes and sizes, many of whom looked just as confused as she was. The black-eyed girl gave a short speech about what was going on, that they’d all get their powers back soon enough, and to not worry about losing, just to make a good show.
What?
Yes, some of those abilities might be a bit overpowered; Lens will nerf them if and when he deems it necessary.
