I miss the mod already, and hard to find endermen and other end game materials in my biomes o plenty world ... so looking for alternatives here such as ee3 to get them. Any clue ?
Are there any plans to update EE3 for 1.6.4 ?

Yes, you're in luck, check out Pahimar's twitter account for updates, the MC forums thread also has plenty of discussion.
There are also some test builds of EE3 that will work with 1.6.4 available, if you look for a mod called Equivalency, which is an EE3 addon that adds some Minium Stone transmutations for various popular mods like IC2 and Thaumcraft there's a link in the first post to a GitHub page you can download them from.
the later versions are utterly broken the minium stone has no transmutions and it is NOT supported by pahimar iirc

The version I got from https://github.com/lluixhi/EE3-Builds/tree/master/1.6.4 here seems to work fine, build 25 to be precise, 26 and 27 I couldn't use because they rely on a version of Forge that doesn't have modloader functionality, but that one works fine. Naturally as you said they're not officially supported so it's use at your own risk, but if you absolutely can't wait until an official version is released it's better than nothing.
I did give that one a shot Dee ... the game loads, but nothing appears in game .... Guess I'll have to wait for the official version
